Welcome to Valley View Images

Come in and explore a curated collection of images, poetry, ideas and observations, mostly focused on photography and art and inspired by the landscape, people, culture and environments in which I live and work.

I take photographs with my cameras, but that is just the start of a creative process that involves various post-production techniques using Lightroom, Photoshop, other applications, digital printing and, eventually, bespoke mounting and framing my workshop to compliment the image.

Within these pages you will also find scribbled notes, expressing my thoughts and emotions that have guided or affected the creative process, as well as quotes, poetry or text that I have found relevant or just interesting.

In the past, as my photography developed I struggled occasionally to overcome a creative block, seeking a purpose or meaning in my hobby. Equally, trying to find a style of my own that was distinct from the millions of other images being created every day, caused self-doubt and frustration.

Now, I’m more at peace with myself and I photograph anything that catches my eye or my curiosity. I create images for myself, there are no rules, nothing is ‘not allowed’ and I embrace new techniques both with camera, computer and in the workshop.
